God's Creative Process: Let There Be Revelation
Text: Genesis 1
Genesis 1:1-5 | In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
God's light shows us our need
Isaiah 42:16 | I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.
God's light is revelation
Proverbs 29:18 | Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.
God's light reveals His power
John 1:4-5 | In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
John 1:9 | 9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.
